“Style BITE Steal”

This outfit really channels the popular 70s vibe. If you’re feeling a bit shy about heaping on the corduroy or the flares, then you can work this trend by adding a simple floppy hat [like the one pictured] over a cutesie summer dress, or donning a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses or even just a simple wedge heel is enough to add that seventies touch without going all out.

How do you work the seventies trend?

Abercrombie & Fitch under fire for kids’ bikinis.
Luxury brand Abercrombie and Fitch’s childrenswear line, Abercrombie Kids has come under fire this week, following the sale of their bikini tops. The chindrenswear label is aimed at girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 14, and their Ashley Triangle Top is not only padded but, according to Abercrombie’s site, advertised as a push up. An internet poll showed 91% out of thousands polled deemed it in appropriate. Perhaps it would make more sense to have the age range cut off at 12 years old, and have Abercrombie Kids focussed solely on the ages of 7-12, keeping the bikini range solely for their older consumers.

Rachel Zoe gives birth to a baby boy
Only a few days ago celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe was spotted, nine months pregnant rocking a pair of fiercely high Brian Atwood heels, and, just a matter of days later on Tuesday, she went into labour giving birth to a little boy. Rachel tweeted: ” “Thank you all so much for your love! @rbermanus and I couldn’t be happier with little Skyler Morrison in our arms…he is everything. XoRZ”. Congrats!

Yet another sexual harassment case brought against American Apparel’s Dov Charney
A second employee has come forward this week claiming that she was also subjected to sexual harassment by American Apparel’s Dov Charney. In the suit, which was filed on Wednesday, Kimbra Lo claims that Charney invited the 19 year old to his home, to discuss her being rehired as a photographer and model, however, once she arrived at his home Charney allegedly went on to undress her and attempt to have sex with her and take pictures.  The lawsuit also cited three other employees, however the details of their complaints weren’t listed as they signed confidentiality agreements with AA. Lawyer Eric Baum said in a statement he did not believe the agreements are enforceable.

Avon brand ambassador Reese Witherspoon wants you to smell good, so much so that she’s launching three new fragrances for the beauty brand.

The trio of scents that Reese helped develop include: Live (fruity and floral), Laugh (citrus tea) and Love (floral oriental).

No word on price, but each perfume will roll out separately in April, May and August.

Abercrombie & Fitch‘s kids label Abercrombie Kids have moms up in arms over their bikini tops.

According to the site’s description, the Ashley triangle top is not only padded, but advertised as a push up.

Keep in mind Abercrombie Kids is aimed at girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 14.

One mommy blogger went off on parenting website Babble, writing:

…Even the use of the word ‘push up’ is unbelievably inappropriate. The push up bra is, effectively, a sex tool, designed to push the breasts up and out, putting them front and center where they’re more accessible to the eye (and everything else). How is this okay for a second-grader?

Playing at sexy is an inevitable and important part of growing up. But there’s a difference between exploring these ideas on your own and having them sold to you in a children’s catalog. Right now, somewhere in the world, a girl is shopping at Abercrombie kids and getting the message that her breasts might need a little help. Why not start now, with a push up bikini made special for you?

She makes a lot of good points.

Tell us what U think!

Ex-Vogue Edirot Carine Roitfeld Teams With Barneys NY
Roitfeld will act as a guest editor and stylist at Barneys, working closely with creative director Dennis Freedman on the store’s Autumn campaign, which will be shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti.

14 years ago today, Roberto Cavalli was sentenced to 14 months in prison, after being found guilty of tax evasion. This Friday will see two of his peers find out if they will stand trial for the same crime. Dolce & Gabbana are in big trouble after an investigation found that Domenico and Stefano failed to pay taxes on over $1 BILLION in revenue. And it would seem D&G might not be as lucky as their ole pal Roberto [who didn’t do any time], as the prosecution is seeking a criminal indictment against Dolce & Gabbana for fraud and setting up a fake company. Though 5 years is the usually the maximum sentence, other details specific to the case could see another two years added to that sentence. Oh well, at least jumpsuits have made a comeback eh boys?

Actress Amber Heard has been scouted by luxury brand Guess to face their new campaign. Speaking of the appointment, Heard said; “I’ve been a huge fan of GUESS for a long time and to be the new face of the Fall 2011 campaign is very exciting. It was such an amazing experience to have been able to work with some of the most creative talents in the industry, such as Paul Marciano and Ellen Von Unwerth, who have collaborated on some of the most iconic campaigns in GUESS history.”

And that quote concludes today’s news round up!
